Yet Another Hero Story is a classic point and click adventure set in a fantasy, cartoon world.

They said

“Yet Another Hero Story is an enjoyable fantasy journey filled with likeable characters, a clever script, and wonderful art direction.”

Adventure Gamers

A noble lady has been abducted and only a hero can save her. That hero shouldn't be Martin McNish but life has an odd sense of humour sometimes.

It is your task to help Martin, become a hero.

Low reflexes are highly recommended to play the game. The interface is the simplest possible. Player can move, pick up items and talk to characters with a single click. Items can be used with a simple drag operation.

More than 50 environments and illustrations have been created for the game. We love 3D technology so much that we decided not to include any of it in our game. Everything was created in the good old and painful 2D way.

PS. A free Steam key is now available for request for all itch.io buyers.

Hi guys, love the game! Sadly though with me game keeps stalling  on Steam running on Mac in the scene just after entering the magic field. Can you please advise?

Glad you like the game. When you say "stalling" do you mean is crashing? (Don't tell me that you didn't click on the rock)

Is there a chance that you have continued the game from a save file that was made in one of the early versions of the game?

There has been an update that resulted into losing compatibility with older save files and that could lead to all sorts of strange behaviour.

oops :) thanks for the rock suggestion.

LOL  Glad it wasn’t a bug. If you like the game, we would be grateful, if you could leave a recommendation on the Steam page. Thanks!

done :)

where can i request the steam key?

@nejedly The Steam keys will be added very soon and you will be able to claim one through the standard procedure itch uses.

Hi guys,

after the update i get crashes trying to leave Kavinbridge and visit the greater area.  has anyone experienced this (macOS 10.14.5)

best regards

Is there any chance to you continued the game from a save file that was made in one of the early builds of the game?

yup, that's correct

unfortunately one of the older updates that was made 16 days ago broke older saves and it was nothing we could do about it.

All other updates since then didn’t affect saves.

thanks for the quick reply. no biggie then, i'll use newer saves.

Hello @Sinking Sheep

I just purchased your game and I really like your graphical style, well done! One thing that is irritating me however are the voices: Is it normal that only now and then a single sentence is voiced? I find that really distracting. If that's indeed the normal situation and not some bug would there be a way to completely disable voices?

Thank you and all the best! :)

Hello @Athanasius

First of all, thank you very much for playing the game.

The decision to have this behaviour for voices was made deliberately and it's not a bug.  In one hand we had the option to completely avoid using any voice-over (that was our initial decision) and on the other hand we had the option to include some voice-over work in order to bring a bit more life to the game. (Similarly to what a numerous  RPGs do for example)

After making a few tests with our game testers, the general feedback was that people preferred the version with the voice-over part.

We are really sorry that is not your liking and we will certainly take your comment very seriously and try to make an update in the future, with the option to disable voices.

We really hope, that at least this won't spoil the game for you. Thanks for the feedback.

All the best!

Hey, thank you very much for your reply! It's not that the voices were bad - on the contrary, they seem very fitting and I'm sure full voice acting would be fantastic. But to have them pop up now and then feels confusing for me, especially as there doesn't seem to be a clear pattern of when they appear (I remember some RPGs where only the first sentence is spoken out, due to memory restrictions. It's less distracting there for me because I know it's always at the beginning of a dialogue). Unfortunately it indeed hampers the immersion for me, so I would really appreciate it if you could integrate an option to disable the voices completely. Thank you and have a great day! :)

No problem, we are going to have an updated version with this option included as well in the next couple of days. Hope that this will work for you.

Thank you very much, I look forward to the update. :)

Wow, that was fast! Thank you very much! :)

i'd like to thank you for this option as well... this was the only reason i didn't play the game yet...

Will have to get this. Totally reminds me of Monkey Island!

The goal has been set for mid-April. In the unlikely case of a delay we are still confident that it will be released before Summer.

Cool pics.

Thank you

Enjoyed this very much! Reminded me a lot of Monkey Island.

Very glad to hear it.

Looking forward to seeing more Rupert. :)

He practically steals the game, doesn't he?

He's charming. :)

I think we're gonna need a walkthrough (Use stone on wood to make light in cave... nope)

Search a bit more in the cave :)
